The McLaren P1 GTR (pictured) will debut at Pebble Beach 2014
We learnt last month that McLaren had decided to produce a P1 for the track – a la the Ferrari FXX programme – and in the process revive the GTR moniker from the iconic McLaren F1 GTR to create the new McLaren P1 GTR. Now McLaren are previewing the debut of the P1 GTR at next month’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance with a design sketch of the P1 GTR ahead of its real life reveal in California. Following in the giant steps of the F1 GTR – and those of the road-going P1 – will be no easy task, but what’s on offer certainly offers lots of promise.
JAC revealed this four-door Vision IV concept at the Beijing Motor Show.
Designed by JAC's Turin-based design team, the concept showcases both a hybrid powertrain and a new A-segment chassis that houses a lithium ion battery in the center tunnel. The styling is meant to convey both a sense of 'natural electricity' and the fluid, natural strokes of Chinese calligraphy. Reports suggest that the Jaguar F-Type Coupe will debut in production guise in November at the Los Angeles Motor Show. Of course, we’ve already seen much of what the F-Type Coupe will offer in the C-X16 Concept – the basis for the F-Type – when that was revealed a year ago, but we hadn’t expected to see it as the F-Type Coupe until at least Geneva 2013. But Motor Authority are this morning claiming the F-Type Coupe will arrive at the L.A.
